"When I first started having tics I was scared because I thought that some really bad things would happen.  Then my parents taught me about Tourette’s and what it is.  I started feeling normal again.  Now, my tics don’t seem like a big deal most of the time.  Usually people either don’t notice them or ignore them.  I am learning that if they do say something about my tics, I can tell them what tics are or I can just ignore them.  I hope that other kids will learn about their Tourette’s.  There are lots of other kids that have tics and Tourette’s is nothing to be ashamed of." -Sean (age 9)
